Setting for Volleyball - It's Not Hard

You don't need to look good like the pros to set. You don't need to jump set because it doesn't make that much of a difference. As long as you know how to hide some of your sets, you will deceive the opponent, giving you the advantage is many ways. So what do you need to do to set better and smarter? Do you have any thoughts on what you want to run. As long as you have a clear mind and take advantage it will be okay. You should also listen to your hitters and see the difference.
What are the difference?
The whole line up is what you have to see. If there's a small blocker against your best hitter or a slow middle blocker. When you notice all those flaws inside the defense, you have to take advantage of those situations before they close it. When you start doing a rally, mix up your plays because they have the mental disadvantage. They are being pressured and you have to keep doing that. Go with the momentum of the game and it will turn out the be a better situation for your team.
Do you run a 6-2 or a 5-1?
If you run a 6-2, you will always set from the back row. You will have to be ready when to run up forward, the more time you have, the clearer decisions you can make. Just know where the hitters will hit, read their shoulders, then run when you know it's not going to you. Same thing with tips, read that and you will get it. So what about a 5-1 offense? This gives you a huge advantage if you are playing front row and can jump. When the ball is closer to the net, you can dunk the ball. This move is very good against a team that is on a verge of collapsing. This is also good when you are in a tight spot and have no hitters to go for.
All you need to know is who to set and how to set. This will give you so many advantages, you just have to open your eyes. It all becomes easy for you and your team. Have fun while playing.
