How to Jump Higher in Volleyball - 4 Steps to Volleyball Success

How to jump higher in volleyball is important for dedicated volleyball players to know, because jumping skills separate the good players from the great ones. No matter your build or height, you can learn to jump at least a foot higher to more effectively slam the ball down the other team's throats, and to serve with greater power and precision.
Follow these 4 easy exercises to make your jumps higher than before without ever going to the gym.
* Jog and Stretch: Do your usual warm up exercises. Go and jog for 15 minutes then stretch out the muscles by raising one hand up high then have your other hand grasp the elbow of your raised hand behind your head. Do this alternately with both hands for a minute or two and repeat this 8 times.
* Focus on Your Legs: Place your right foot in front of the left then try bending down, then switch the feet. Do this 8 times to really extend your hamstrings, quads, and calves, while making them stronger at the same time.
* Toe Exercises for Calf Strengthening: Stand up with both feet flat on the floor and hold on to something. Raise your feet by your toes pushing off the ground with your heels up. Stay up for 5 seconds and then let your heels go down slowly. Do this 10 times.
* Step Leaps: Stand before a step, bend you knees and then jump to the step with both your feet then step back. Repeat this for about 10 seconds to a full minute then gradually increase it to 5 minutes and at the same time gradually increase the level of the step.
Incorporate these drills on your workout and you will begin to feel a huge difference on the way you jump. You can reasonably expect to gain about 1.5 inches every week that you follow this, or a similar routine, but you've got to keep doing the exercises to keep seeing gains. Good luck!
